Dear diary,
Today is the day that I have decided to start the shooting process of my short film ''The dog walker'' On this day I plan to get several things done such as the main part of my short film the dialog and some more foley's using the zoom microphone. For the location we was all set to record in King George's park. I felt like this was day was perfect as days ago I had finished my film poster which was a huge indication to start the filming process immediately, if I wanted to be on track.
Due to my script being basic and quite set in one location, I had realized that this short film would only approximately have one shooting day and if needed for improvement possibly 2 days of shooting. But I am quite positive that their will be only one shooting day for final major project if it goes well, as the dialog and script is set in one location and is very simple.
Below is a selection of photos of me in the production phase of my short film. You can see me kneeling down getting some close up shots of Sanchia my main actress and in the other picture you can see another one of my actresses Tatum smiling, whilst taking a candid shot of me, yet again in production.
The process of the shooting
Successfully on this day I had managed to record everything I needed to, which was great. I personally knew that this concept was easy to do in a day as it consists of a very basic script and few directions, however this may be I did face some very harsh difficulties that me and my new actresses had faced, which was the weather. The weather on this day was very very windy which resulted in the moods of my actresses being quite annoyed. Especially Sanchia who was complaining about how cold it was, due to this opinion I decided to make the process more quicker, making a short yet same concept idea of my short film, having the same dialog but instead making it be translated shorter.
Here is a clip of me with the camera, securing and showing you guys the footage after I was done recording. I also share the difficulties I had in the video when trying my best record foley's for the weather.
The footage that I got on this day was very good but I was also left upset by some of it, as due to the weather i realized that once played and looked at, it was very difficult to hear my actresses speak. I was in such a rush and didn't even think to record the audio of my actresses due to wanting to satisfy my actress (Sanchia) as she kept on complaining on how she was cold. - Because of this I now have to find ways through editing that I can help enhance the voices of my actresses, perhaps adding the ''denoizer'' effect to the footage or even putting subtitles in my work.
I could also even try to get my actresses to record the audio again but in a private setting and have it synced to the actual footage.
THE NEXT STEP AFTER THIS .........
The next step after this is the editing process where I will be spending the majority of my time sorting out my clips, putting it into folders and placing them on to my timeline on the editing software Premier pro. In the past weeks I will be focusing on altering my work using this software, trying my ever best to get it prepared to be presented to my class for my feedback response.
