Unit 8 - Character Profile

On this blog post you will see all the features that I want my character to have and acquire, listing all the little details that my character will have installed in them, wether its the personality traits they have or their custom style that they wear everyday. I will be doing this for all of my characters, just so you can get an in-sight and a slight background of what each of my characters are like.

Character Development of Jeff + Annotated mood board of what Jeff's personality and style consists of

Here is the character Jeff's individual mood board, where it shows images that consist of what his personal style is like, what he carries such as an school bag and also a framed picture of a dog in his back pack. I created this mood board to show visually the style he has just, so you can get a short preview of what he mostly wears as a person. For the other male characters (John & Jake) their style is sort of the same, so instead of creating two different mood-boards for them I just created the one.

Jeff's style

is casual/nerdy

Name : Jeff Pendergast

Age : 18 years old

Occupation : Dog Walker

Short Description about Jeff as a character :

Jeff often has difficulties expressing his feeling and opinions to others, he has a nasally tone and speaks sometimes through his nose. He is very anti-social ( alike to the woman I did research on Veronica Llinás)

Relationships :

When it comes to relationships he is very secluded and private, he has his own circle of friends he hangs out with which is Ashley, John and Jake. He often distances himself away from them in the park, as sometimes his obsession is too much to handle, where he often gets scared that his friends will find out and judge him, completely for it. He uses being a dog walker as an excuse to always be in the park when he doesn't always necessarily have to look after a dog in a park, he just does so to look at his framed picture of a dog and that he can be in an area where dogs are most prominent in.

Character Defects :

• Isolates himself from people, as he feels like he can't relate to anyone, especially since having his weird obsession, resulting in him being fearful as well.

• He as a person doesn't allow himself to make any friends outside of his circle group,

• he wants to destroy his circle group friendship, so him and his obsession can have no chance of coming out, putting him in a situation where he can be comfortable.

Ashley's style is

is PREPPY/GIRLY

Being played by : Toara (a Performing arts students)

Name : Ashley Thompson

Age : 18 years old

Occupation : Works at Urban Outfitters

Short Description of Ashley :

Ashley comes of as very snobby at times, being straightforward and not taking into consideration of how her words may affect people.

She is a very blunt person and dominant person, throughout her relationships, especially in the circle friendship group she is in now.

Relationships :

Ashley is one of the main people in the group of Jeff's friendship circle. She is a person who is very good at making friends and is in-fact very popular, which correlates to why her attitude is snobbish and forward, she is portrayed as a stereotypical popular girl. She feels connected more with Jeff, as she has a more deeper relationship with him, being friends with him since they were 6 years old.

Character Defects :

• Very ignorant and not understanding or sympathetic of how someone may be feeling and we can see this by the way she talks to Jeff.

• Not knowledgable of how her words may have an impact or may hurt someone's feelings, she tends to joke about with Jeff but doesn't know how it could mean something significant to him.

Character Description of John & Jake :

Both are yet again friends of Jeff and try their best to spend a lot of time with him, being in the circle of friends he is in, which involves the both of them and Ashley. They are more sympathetic and helpful towards Jeff and try to help him in a more supportive and kind way to make friends.

John wants Jeff to stay out of the park and hang out with them more, as he thinks him staying in the park is not helping him make friends. John is even the one who introduces Jeff to the app switch and Jake is the one who says his testimony of how it helped him, which leads to Jeff downloading it, being switched into a man that has a hatred for dogs.

Both of their character defects :

They're both ignorant and close-minded as they believe that an app can solve someone's mental state or issues, even though they're unaware of what the main problem is.
