Concept Idea - Loretta is a widow who had lost her husband due to a cardiac arrest, before he died they had an argument and the words said by her husband was '' Ill will never be good enough for you'' he then left the house and never came back. Only to find out from his relatives that he had passed out in his new accommodation. - I will be the voice of Loretta Jones
Loretta constantly blames herself for the death, thinking that if they didn't have an argument, that still to this day her husband will be alive, but for obvious reasons theirs nothing that she can do, as he is already dead.
So she records a diary entry on her dictaphone of how she is dealing with this process, as her councillor told her its good for her to express her feelings rather than bottling them up. In her Diary entry she discusses the problems she faces as a widow, similar to the problems of Jeann (the podcast woman) how she has moments where people don't sympathize with her and act unprofessional with her and moments where people think she is to blame. - Even the media thinks that she is to blame for this situation, as she didn't want to comment on his death.
The podcast name will be The widow diaries, as the podcast is the diary entries of a widow. The name is pretty self explanatory and simple which is how I wanted it to be. When it comes to if there will be any music in my podcast, I am very uncertain about that possibility, but I will try my best to create my own beats or speak to someone regarding making my own beats, if all fails then no music would be fine in my opinion.
Duration of the podcast : 5 minutes MAX - In order to ensure I don't go on for longer ill time myself using my phone and make sure my script is not longer than 5 minutes. Im making sure that my podcast will be around 4-5 minutes, as if it was longer it would be boring and continuous.
MOOD BOARD
Below is a mood board I had created, having images associated with the ideas I have. Making a mood board is really useful in helping to bring my ideas to life visually. On the mood board every picture links to the narrative of my radio play.

From flags showing the places where my main characters come from. To visuals of ambulances cars, and a ABC special news report, to re-enact the event where Norman Loretta's husband was found dead. We can see terms and fonts such as the definition of ''GUILT'' which is what Loretta suffers from, she blames herself for her own husbands death.
We also see on my mood board picture of a sunflower which is what Norman used called Loretta ''my beautiful sunflower'' and a black and white picture of what appears to be Loretta as a dancer. We see visuals of a tomb stone to show that her husband is infact dead and a picture of a white woman with fishnets looking down to show that this person is mourning, its not a picture of Loretta in particular but its a picture of a someone who is a widow.
Their is also a picture saying that ''ill never be good enough for you'' which is what Norman said whilst they had an argument before he left the house and moved to a small apartment, which again is on the mood board.
EVERYTHING THAT IS APART OF THE NARRATIVE OF MY RADIO PLAY IS VISUALLY PLACED ON TO MY MOOD BOARD.
Creating my script
Using CELTX AGAIN

To create my script I used Celtx, merely because it is easy to use and the whole website purpose is to create a script. Plus I have had a lot of previous experience using this website.
Below is my script completed in full

Creating my script was quite easy to do. When structuring it I often went back to my character development post and tried my best to create my character, and form her sentences to show how she would say it. On my character development post I wrote that my character would often stutter, so I made sure to add in her dialogue some areas where she would stutter and mumble her words up. On my character development post I also wrote how my character loved to talk about the good old days when she was dancer, so thats why in some areas of the script you see her going of on a tangent and talking about the good old days.
All that was described about my character on my post has been contributed into my script, helping to bring my character along communication wise and for my audience to see her personality as it truly is.
The next step that I need to do after this, is to start recording and rehearsing my lines for my podcast.
I will also need to :
- Find people to be a character in my podcast (either being the councillor or the news reporter) finding reliable people/actors preferably in my class.
