Dear Diary,
I began recording some of the bits of my podcast today. Before recording I thought it was necessary for me to rehearse my lines first which is what I did, but instead of recording it on the ZOOM recorder I recorded it on my iPhone 6s plus just for practice purposes.
Here is the audio of the rehearsal I did
I remember on the last post I made (finishing my script & developing) I said that for my next step I would need to find some people that could be some of the voices for my characters (on my podcast) and luckily I had found some people who were more than happy do the roles of the news reporter and councillor.
For the news reporter my friend Sherene said that she would be happy with that role, and I decided to take her on, as she is someone in my class who is reliable and trust-worthy. I also have all her details, her number, her email so if she was not in or if we had any problems I could easily contact her without any hassle.
For the voice of the councillor I chose Carol to do it for me who is a teacher that is apart of the media department. I chose her because she is very nice, kind and extremely helpfully, I also felt that she would perfect for the role of the councillor as she has a mature, clear and professional voice. I felt that if I used a student, it would be very obvious that the person is younger, especially since everyone in my class including the females (which is the gender my councillor will be) has a young and little voice, therefore making Carol perfect for the role.
When it comes to composing my own beats at first I was a bit indecisive about the idea, but now I am at-least going to attempt to create beats using the software garage band, if all fails then I will just speak to the music students on the 4th floor and ask if they can compose something for me. - If that fails as well than I guess ill have to resort to using no music at all. For my podcast, I will also be using the Zoom recorder to capture some ambience sounds for when Loretta describes her story of her and Norman meeting. For this section I would like to have some sounds of people clapping, music being played and sounds of footsteps, just to set the scene of when they first met and for the audience know that she is deeply reminiscing about those days.
Today I had actually planned to start recording, but was told to speak to Carol further just to see what days she would be fully flexible to do her role, so hopefully soon I will be able to record Carol's dialog part.
