Creating a Trailer - My Ideas

For this project I have decided that I will be creating a comedy trailer, I took some inspiration of one of the trailers I had analyzed for apart of my research, which was the trailer of the movie Freaky Friday. The trailer will be a spin off version of the movie Freaky Friday, but a ghetto version of it.

Freaky Friday - 2003

Short Summary of the film : A mother (Tess) and her 15 year old child (Anna) have a dispute whilst dining out at a Chinese restaurant, overall their relationship is quite rocky. Anna has to deal with her annoying 10 year old brother and her mother who is a widow, who is going to get married again.

Anna is not ready for her mum to marry again, she believes its to early especially since her dad died three years ago.

But things change unexpectedly, when they're at the restaurant, they receive a fortune cookie which contains a spell. The spell is that they switch bodies, which leads them to experience an earthquake that they only had felt.

On this project I am working with another person called Sherene, So I will be linking all the research and ideas we come up with this trailer on my other posts when necessary.

Summary of my ideas

- Two black girls (teenagers) - ghetto (uses slang) quite rude and disobedient.

- They swap bodies whilst in detention (when they're fighting)

- They have 24 hours to get back to their original bodies.

The next step in creating this trailer is to get more research (primary & secondary) just to help develop my ideas more and also to find out what an audience looks for in a comedy trailer or any trailer. I will then have to create a script for my trailer and eventually a shot list.

I would also be looking for some actors and actresses in the performance arts department, who will be willing to star in my trailer.
