Dear Diary,

Today was the day me and the whole class got the chance to go on a trip, to the British film institute in South Bank. On this trip we got the chance to visit the BFI mediatheque and also got the chance to watch a movie called being 17.

The BFI mediatheque allowed us to watch different pieces of online content that had been made years ago, that are apart of the British film and television history. We was given a viewing station and a ticket number which gave us the opportunity to watch these clips.

Task : Our task in the mediatheque was to watch videos that are related to the promotional videos that we are producing. I decided to watch an educational video on the windrush event that happened in Brixton, Just so, I could be more knowledgable about what had happened in that historical movement.

Some pictures I took at the trip!

Later on in the day we got the opportunity to watch a film called ''Being 17 again''

Picture I took inside the theatre↑

Information about the movie:

Being 17 is a french based drama film, which was directed by Andre Téchiné.

The movie is about two guys who constantly have conflict with one another, at school. They both come from different backgrounds. Damien is seventeen and lives with his mother, Marrianne who works as a doctor. He is always around his mother due to the fact that his father works in the military as a pilot.

At school, Damien's life isn't as great, as he gets regularly picked on by a student named Tom, but unexpectedly things change for the worst. Tom's foster mum gets pregnant and the risks are quite high of their being complications, due to this, Marianne has asked Tom to stay with her whilst his foster mum gets the help and treatment she needs, resulting in the two conflicted boys living together.

My opinion on the movie:

I really liked this movie, I loved the concept, which was two boys that hated each other, realised deep down they actually loved each other and had feelings for one another. It was spontaneous and created really well in my opinion. I would recommend this movie to my friends, if they wanted to watch a film that is unconventional.
