Today, I was assigned a new project! which was to create a short promotional video about London. Like the other tasks, I was put into a group. The people that were in my group were Tatum & Sherene. We all decided that the concept of our video was going to be a video for our ''fake friend'' that was a foreigner to London. The target audience for our promotional video is aimed at 18-23 year olds.
Before we start production phase in our promotional video, me and my team plan to do some recces and explore the areas where we will be shooting. The areas that we decided to focus on was
Brixton

We decided to focus on Brixton, as it is very local to me and Tatum. Brixton is a very popular area that many people tend to hang around. Me and Tatum are very knowledgeable about Brixton and are very familiar with the shops and restaurants that are running. Brixton has a variety of shops and restaurants, it is very historical also as their is a street specifically named after the Windrush generation. It focuses on how Britan had turned into a multicultural society, once immigrants had arrived to Britan in 1948. In 1988 the Tate library in Brixton was re-introduced as ''Windrush Square'' to remember the 50th anniversary of when the Windrush had arrived. It would be super beneficial to add this to our promotional video, as people who are not from London may not be knowledgeable on the windrush or the vast amount of history Brixton has.
Oxford Circus

Oxford circus has vast array of shops unlike brixton. Shops and restaurants are practically everywhere and this is mainly because it is in central London. The shops that are located in oxford circus are
Urban outfitters
Topshop H&M
Forever 21
Debenhams
American Apparel
and many more well-known shops.
I believe that Oxford circus would be a perfect place to shoot in, as the scenery is very beautiful especially at night, and it would be great to feature some of these popular clothing shops and restaurants. Not only does oxford circus have loads of clothing shops, it also have very creative and eye-catching restaurants such as sushi bars & steak warehouses.
The whole purpose of our promotional video, is to attract adults and introduce them to places in Brixton and in Central London, that can be entertaining and enjoyable.
When doing this I would also like to show the historical sides of London, but not the average and overly known places such as ''Big ben'' and the ''London Eye'' I want to make this video unique and not something that is predictable, almost every promotional video of London, it is expected to see visuals of Big ben or the London Eye.
West End

It would be great to catch some visuals in West End, which is why my team and I decided to focus on this area, merely because it is a place that allows people to have a wide choice of events and things to do.
West end is well-known as an area, its a place where anyone could engage in a lot of activities. You could watch a production in the famous West end theatre, you could see a musical, a comedy and even a horror. If these genres are to generic for you, you could even watch deep and famous plays such as the Phantom of the Opera, or Les Miserables.
If theatre isn't your favourite thing to watch and you're more into art and paintings, you could even go to museums and art galleries. West End is also known for being one of London's high attractions. It has the most well-liked museums and art galleries such as The royal academy of Arts and the London transport museum.
Similar to Oxford circus, West end also has a lot of clothing shops and restaurants that are very unconventional and different.
